MISSION

The Wines

Our wines want to be a tribute to our land, an expression of our traditions and our origins.

The search for a harmonious development of the vine and a winemaking that is love and respect for the grapes are the basis of our constant search for quality.

2022 | 2023

Harvests

The first two vintages of Cantina Tàia, extremely different from each other but equally representative of a large territory, the Oltrepò Pavese.

The 2022 vintage is the first to be vinified in the newly renovated cellar.
Everyone in Lombardy remembers this vintage for the strong hailstorms that hit the most important area of Italy for Pinot Noir and Riesling.
Fortunately, the different positioning of our vineyards allowed us to “save” a good part of the grapes and bring perfectly intact bunches to the cellar.
A vintage that I would define as direct and sincere.

All the wines have beautiful acidity that makes them vertical, deep and born to last over time. Riesling above all shows great talent and potential.

2023, however, was a year where the ripening of the grapes went further.
The last days before the harvest were hot and dry, creating perfect conditions for the health of the grapes.

Here we can talk about balance as the lowest common denominator.

Important wines, structured and powerful but without losing elegance. The Pinot Noir, recently in barriques, demonstrates rare qualitative potential.

Last step for the 2022 “base” which rests in the bottle on the yeasts awaiting disgorgement. The important initial acidity is being “tamed” thanks to the work of yeasts and time. We expect a complex, vibrant and very intense wine.

OLTREPò PAVESE DOC

Riesling

From a noble vine such as Riesling Renano, an elegant white with an intense yellow with greenish reflections is born. On the nose, the pleasant fruity notes of peach and white pulp fruit, balsamic hints and notes that enhance its unmistakable minerality prevail. The sip is full and enveloping, the mineral finish is pleasant and all accompanied by an excellent acidity.

OLTREPò PAVESE DOC

Pinot Nero Rosato

The Pinot Noir grapes, master of our wine-growing territory, give our rosé an intriguing rosy and crystalline appearance, the scent is fruity with aromas of cherry, yellow fruit, citrus and floral hints. Featuring excellent freshness, great drinkability and pleasant persistence, it stands out for its great elegance.

Red wine

Il Rosso

Great protagonists of our territory, Pinot Noir and Barbera give us a wine of an intense ruby red color, on the nose prevailing hints of blackcurrant, raspberry and violet, rhubarb and a hint of liquorice. The Pinot Noir gives us a sip with silky and unobtrusive tannins accompanied by the right freshness given by the Barbera. A wine with great elegance.
